I am trying to recall a film I saw in 1969-70. I remember it was British comedy, in colour and I assume made in the 60s. The only scene I recall is that of a cat following the movements of the protagonists falling out of a window (?) The cat's head looked up and followed them down as they fell, I recall a ladder that may have been rendered as unhelpful. Sorry to be scant re info, any thoughts?

Help needed re '60s Brit comedy
My best guess would be Confessions of a Window Cleaner. I watched bits of it a short while back but I don't recall any business with a cat though.
Thanks, I don't think so as ( I should have mentioned ) the film I saw was set in (?) earlier times than the swinging 60's of "Confessions of a Window Cleaner". I thought I had nailed with "The Wrong Box" but after watching it, it was not to be.

Was it a Norman Wisdom film?
Yes probably - Norman Wisdom and a little boy he takes to a magic show where some crook types try to kidnap him!
'Up in the World' ?

No, the film I saw was in colour.
Oh then I think you are talking about Bell Book and Candle maybe?

Rob, if it's the film I'm suggesting, then it must have been 1970, the year it was released. I definitely remember a bungling first floor window scene, and I think there was a cat, and I believe it was Hywell Bennett (Shelley) who fell out of it with his trousers round his ankles. Was set in 1950s Burma or somewhere. The Virgin Soldiers - Ring any bells
Thanks, but not Virgin Soldiers, I have that film. I am thinking the film I am chasing was set in England, poss. Victorian times.
Cheers.
