Yeah, by backing the winner. There's no denying that they're an extremely powerful organ, and the drip drip drip of negative stories can arguably swing an election. Or at least have a sizeable influence. The 1992 anti-Kinnock campaign certainly didn't do Labour any favours in 1992, when they really should have won the election.
