The Office?! Christ alive. I can think of a billion-and-one more worthy contenders. Oh well, nevermind. Should be a good series anyway.

Theyre doing one about Just Good Friends and youre getting upset about The Office one?!?!

Just good friends and the Office are 2 massively successful sitcoms though aren't they? If you put personal opinions aside then it's hard to quibble with them being worthy of appearing on the show.

Highlight of the series, It aint Half Hot Mum. The One Foot in the Grave one was good last night though. I have every episode of OFITG on DVD.

I find the programme interesting even when the featured comedy is one that I don't like. The "connections" bit is what interests me most (though last night's clips of One Foot... reminded me how deliciously dark it could be)

Last night's edition did make me consider going out to buy some OFITG DVDs which I guess is what the show is about.

I also think that there are quite a few other shows that they could cover in a sixth series. For example 2 Point 4 Children, Likely Lads, Brittas Empire, Royle Family, Summer Wine (though they'd have to cram a lot in), Open All Hours etc.

Just Good Friends has more "connections" than The Office, as far as I can make out; The Office's episode will probably just concentrate on a few points and discuss them at length.

Some good ideas there. As for cramming a lot in, Christ. They'd need a 3-hour special just to go over the basics.

I can see what you mean about the Office's cast being young and therefore not having had long established careers but they all worked before the show started and have done a lot since. It also had a pretty big ensemble cast so there shouldn't be too much trouble filling the 30 minutes.

Actually Nick, the episodes last 40 minutes.

Brittas Empire,

Ooh, that would be a good one!

The Office has loads of connections - The 11 o Clock Show, Extras, Hardware, The Robinsons, The Simpsons, Man Stroke Woman, The IT Crowd, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, etc

Iloved Just Good Friends and Dont wait up....

Just Good Friends was the funiest thing i ever saw when I was younger.

Just finished watching the episode on Bread. I used to love that show when I was a kid, and although it has dated somewhat, it was really good to relive some memories. I never felt the same though after the original Joey and Aveline left.

A few things surprised me:

1 - Peter Howitt becoming a successful film director.

2 - The fact that it ran for 7 series. A huge length of time for a sitcom, especially these days (including 3 series after Peter Howitt and Gilly Coman left).

3 - How few of the cast were on the programme. Wonder why? And where did they all go? It didn't really clear that up.

Good fun though. :)

Strange that the very successful Peter Howitt was prepared to talk about the show but some of the less successful actors weren't. Maybe they were just unavailable.
