Brian Park

Here's a script for a sketch that I might be animating next.

Comments welcomed! :)

The zombie sketch is still in production, I just need to find a day when all my actors (i.e. drunk friends!) can get together and Zomb up.

Reformatted for BCG forum.

EXT. A TOWN CENTRE

Close up shot of Brian.

NARRATOR
(V.O.)
Meet Brian Park.  A man so in love with the beautiful game that he recently built the world's smallest Football stadium... on the top of his head.

Camera pans up and we see he has a mini Football stadium on his head complete with stands and flood lights.

INT. LIVING ROOM.

Brian is doing a 'talking heads' style interview with our unseen narrator.

BRIAN
Well I got the idea from a old Kevin Costner film.

NARRATOR
Field of Dreams?

BRIAN
No, Waterworld.  I thought to myself, if Kevin Costner can swim around like a bloody Fish, then why can't I build a Football stadium on top of my head?

NARRATOR
And what do your family and friends think of 'Brian Park' stadium?

BRIAN
My mother has actually been very supportive, although she did think the floodlights were a bit over the top.

Brian pushes his finger up his left nostril, there's a click and the floodlights switch on.

BRIAN
But I don't think they're too bad.

TRANSITION

BRIAN
I suppose my ultimate dream would be to host the World Cup Final!  ...Either that or a Bruce Springsteen concert.

NARRATOR
And you've got no regrets?

BRIAN
Haha no.  People often say to me, 'Brian.  It looks good now, but what will it look like when your 65?'  And to those people I just say, you gotta do what makes you happy.

FADE TO BLACK

TEXT ON SCREEN: "FIFA recently rejected Brian Park's application to host the World Cup Final on the top of his head."

TEXT ON SCREEN: "Bruce Springsteen has yet to reply."

INT. LIVING ROOM.

Brian pushes his finger up his right nostril, click, and when he speaks it sounds like it's coming over a PA/Tannoy system.

BRIAN
The 'Ginsters' man of the match is... Brian Park!

Brian makes a kind of pathetic, half-hearted, crowd cheering noises with his mouth.

BRIAN
Yay!!....kkrkrkrkrkr

Lovely lovely. This is a top bit of silliness. :)

Fantastic. The only thing I'd add would be Brian doing a Mexican wave on his own as he makes the "Yay!!....kkrkrkrkrkr," noises.

lol, that's great :D I might nick that if that's OK? And my animation skills are up to it. This one will hopefully be 3D CGI, so touch and go if I can.

Very good. Could he ask the interviewer what the score is because he can't actually see the pitch (being as it's on top of the noggin)?

That's nice.

Nice! I've got a few weeks before audio recording so will add a bit more I hope.

I'm desperately trying to resist the temptation to go down the naughty joke route at the moment e.g. 'large erection on your head' etc.

Resist it, K. It's good enough as it is. I have my own battle with an inner voice telling me to put in more knob gags - it's called SlagB.
:)

Fabulous can't wait to see no punchline, but doesn't need it

I really enjoyed this (no mean feat as I cannot stand anything football related) but I'm confused. What's it got to do with zombies? And is it meant for animation - because I think it would be far funnier live action.

EDIT: Oh, and the one man Mexican wave is a great idea.

:D

Thanks for the nice comments! :)

:D I've met him and I know what you mean!

Yeah this is going to be animated, I agree it would be funnier acted but I don't think I could produce it well enough. Plus I'm attempting 3D again so this is nice manageable sized project to learn things (I hope!).

Zombies are from a different sketch that I posted on here a few weeks ago. I was just updating on its production progress... Or lack of!

It's a cracker. The concept is so good you can do even more with it.

I thought this was pretty good.
