Theme music for your sitcom

Have any of you writers on here chosen a certain song, that you'd ideally like to play during the closing credits, if your sitcom is ever made?

Yes, but if it's something apt then "The Death March" would probably be more inline with a Slagg Brothers' cobble-up. ;) :)

I've already got original theme tunes in mind (which I'll someday compose) for some of my sitcoms.

"Write the theme tune, sing the theme tune."

I've always fancied taking on SlagA in a 'Self Efface Off'
But I know they'd be much better than me.
:D

I chose a song for my sitcom pilot and even went to the trouble of editing a short version of it but I haven't got it to hand at the moment.

The song is called 'Corner of the World' and was written by a very good friend of mine. It includes the following lyrics...

The skeletons in my cupboard are nastier than you can quite imagine
I think they're behind me now but they'll turn up singing and dancing

I love picking music for the opening or ending credits of my comedies.

For my short film Harris & Doyle: Let The Good Times Roll I knew I had to end on Dennis Waterman's I Could Be So Good For You as that was part of the joke at the end.

In The Life and Times of Jeremy Spicer I cut a version of David Bowie's Time which fit's the show perfectly especially the lyrics.

We are using the same theme music for the latest episode http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CbcizAL5PU

Its funny this topic should emerge. I was only thinking about this last week. I was driving along listening to best of Eels and came across a song called 'Flyswatter' which, if ever I have a sketch show would love to have that as the theme music.

Heres a sample of the lyrics:

Field mice, head lice
Spiders in the kitchen
Don't think twice 'bout
Whatever keeps you itchin'
Ice water, flyswatter
Gonna get you through
The day

Flyswatter is a great track from a great band. :)

Great harmonica piece but this is my all-time fave, and from such a great film.

It's like an even more depressing version of the Last of The Summer Wine theme. :)

Like it very much :) reminds a tad of the comedy drama 'Sunshine' (for obvious reasons)

I spent quite a while choosing the theme music for my monologue A Matter of Principle. The great thing about the music I picked is it is copyright free which is something you have to watch out for unless you compose your own.

^This. They're great live too - they sound completely different from the albums.

I don't have a sitcom but if I did I'd probably try to find an excuse to use Which Way Is It Going by Rahsaan Roland Kirk or Falling Out of Fashion by Schmoof.
