I think I'd take Rooney, Heskey, Defoe, Crouch and Bent. Bent worries me though as I'm not convinced he's international standard but he has got a lot of goals in an average team. (but he also can't take penalties!)

Maybe Zamora should go instead of Bent because he'd be our wild card and an unknown quantity for the opposition.

For some odd reason Crouch and Rooney get a lot of goals when they play together so I'd rather start with them two rather tahn Rooney with Heskey. Ultimately though our second, third, fourth and fifth strikers all only good enough for the bench which is a bit of problem.

He's a good target man and England get the results with him in the team. You need that kind of man with Rooney, so it's a waste of time starting him with Defoe or Bent. He needs to be up front with either Heskey, Crouch or now possibly Zamora. On current form though, I would at least try him with Zamora.

I'll declare my bias - I'm a Fulham fan. But I genuinely reckon Zamora's worth a try. I'm not suggesting he's true international class, by any means, but he's an in-form target man who's chipping in with goals in important games on the European stage and is first-choice for his team. None of which apply to Heskey. I'd rather go with Kevin Davies ahead of Heskey.

So, did you go to Germany to watch Fulham?

So, did you go to Germany to watch Fulham?

I did indeed. I've physically just about recovered, but my bank balance will take considerably longer, I fear.

Amazing goal by Danny Rose for Spurs.

I'd pick Crouch every time, but I'm not sure about that neantherthal.

Everton have just conceded another last-minute goal, just like we did against West Ham last week.

Not to bring bad bad memories or anything Catskillz
But I'd love to see Man City get knocked out at the Champions League qualifying stage next season.
And Man Utd for that matter.

Which Neanderthal?

I said sorry!

I said sorry!

But we all know you didn't mean it!

Just to rub salt in the wound, it was an own goal as well.

Rooney. He's a liability.

A liability? What's he done wrong this season?

I just know someone's going to wind him up and he'll react.

Just had a quick run at a squad for the World Cup...

James
Green
Robinson

Robinson will be the surprise here but he's been and done it and I believe he's over the problems with confidence he had a few years ago. I'd rather have his experience than a Rookie.

Terry
Ferdinand
Upson
Lescott
Cole
Johnson
Gary Neville

I'm not sure about having Lescott in there but he is quite versatile so I think it's worth taking him. Also, despite finding Gary Neville intensley annoying he's someone with experience who you would want rallying the troops in the dressing room.

Gerrard
Lampard
Carrick
Barry
Walcott
Lennon
Joe Cole
Downing
*Milner - edited after being informed I was a player short. :)

Very attack minded but with a back up holding midfielder with Carrick. Could probably do with another more defensive player in there

Rooney
Crouch
Defoe
Heskey

After the debacle of four strikers at 2006 I'm amazed I've only picked four myself but I think we're covered by people such as Walcott, Gerrard and even Joe Cole playing up front who I have down as midfielders. The four chosen have a range of builds so would mix it up a bit if called upon.
