I read the news today oh boy! Page 108

Excellent censoring on the boobs photo!

I think I'll find it hard to breast feed in public. I'm not confident at all about nakedness, let alone getting my swollen boobies out for my baby to suck on a nipple. Maybe I should get an Arnie sticker to go over my nipple.

Don't you go topless on the beach Ellie?

The thing is with breastfeeding no one can see what you're doing unless they're having a really good look. The problem is when you're trying to latch the baby on or they keep turning around to look at something else. Some women put a cover over their shoulder and the baby to be 'discreet' but I didn't; for one I didn't see why discreetness was required and as someone who sunbathes topless I wasn't worried what people might see if they decided to stare at us.

Nope, can't go topless on the beach. I'm not confident enough.

Hehe, no, not yet. :$ Just future planning.

Well you should be. :)

OK
Often it seems that new mums lose a lot of inhibitions in this respect (for whatever reasons), so perhaps you will feel differently come that time.

Yeah I think so. I definitely want to breast feed if possible. :)

It's not very good for your figure - and powdered milk formula is much healthier than breast milk*.

* According to studies by Nestle. Seriously, in some countries there are ads on TV for powdered milk formula products, showing normal kids who've been breastfed being small, feeble and thick, while the babies drinking the formula grow tall and brainy.

It's crazy isn't it.

I get round this by taking a picture on my phone. It's quick and easy, and if it's noisy enough they don't hear the shutter sound that you can't seem to mute.

Including the UK...

Did you know some people breast feed upto 7-8 years.

In the US women are given samples of formula milk in maternity wards. It's not as bad here, but people who think mothers who bottle feed are the only ones who get a hard time are completely wrong. Most medical professionals don't know very much about the subject (it's mainly one of those things that unless you've done it, you don't know much about it) and can give really bad advice. If you have any problems they mostly don't want to know and want to get your baby on a bottle.
