And what was that all about?

Is that a Bad Wolf thing?

Well it's something to do with the ongoing story, yeah, building up to whatever goes on in the last few episodes. I'm thinking Amy will end up being quite central to it in some way.

Maybe if he joins up the freckles on her bum they will form the same pattern. :O

Does that constitute a spoiler?

Yes. I'm very sorry everyone. :$

Hahah.

Maybe she has moles and freckles about her lady garden that join up to reveal The Answer?

It would be quite cool if she records the warning video in another episode.

It felt like it related to that episode though. We know he leaves at the end of the episode anyway, which make the message redundant if recorded later.

Moffat said that his initial reaction to seeing Karen's audition tape was that she was very good as Amy, but he thought it was a shame that she looked "wee and dumpy" (although he later realised that she wasn't). Shouldn't the best actor take the part, regardless of build? I like seeing a sexy person as much as anyone else, but I don't want the drama compromised for the sake of glamour.

To an extent - but with the running and jumping and other things inevitably involved in a role such as the Doctor's assistant, you couldn't really have someone of Dawn French's build, for example, being cast.

There are Olympic athletes with all sort of disabilities, so surely being a bit dumpy wouldn't be a problem for the storylines.

But they get put in their own special Olympics. You can't ... well, you can't really change the whole of Who in that way.

A stupid f**king thing to say at a number of levels.

It was really, wasn't it.

I think you all seem to be getting your knockers in a twist over nothing really. Especially you, you sweary thing Timbo! He was obviously half jesting, but at the same time, he wanted a drop dead sexy companion, big deal.

Do you have any positive comments about the new series? I get the feeling you're not impressed so far.
The drama certainly hasn't been compromised anyway, she's been superb so far.

The exception being Bernard Cribbins.

With something as vacuous as Doctor Who, that's exactly what I'm looking for.

If looks don't matter, why not make the companion a bloke? A brickie, perhaps. Or a real hairy-arsed plumber type. A gay one. The Doctor could travel the universe with a great big farting bear. Lovely. :)
