I think it might be the season 4 finale tonight, or part 2 at least.
I hope they start season 5 soon, we are way to far behind at the moment.

I'm really enjoying season 27 right now. Dwight as a time travelling cyborg was a long time coming.
I thought that I'd gone off it, but I;ve been loving the last series. Michael doing his Rodney Dangerfield 'I can't get no respect' was hilarious!
The season (whichever it is) finale part 2 was a strong way to finish. I really felt this show didn't bear comparison to the original British series when I first started to watch it. In several ways, it still doesn't. However, on its own terms it really has become a great show, with Steve Carell (and Michael as a character) getting ever better at leading it.

I prefer it to the original now. Actually, not 'now', since about halfway through the second series.
I sort of see them as two separate entities now. I love the British original, but this is just as good in many ways. Last nights finale was a great conclusion to a nicely low key season. I'm looking forward to season 5.
I bought a region 1 DVD of series five because I could not wait for ITV2 any longer! It worked straight off in my £20 alba DVDv player from the mid nineties. I don't know if others have considered this option?
DO NBC have a version of iPlayer?

Where did you get the DVD from?
I may try to order one myself.

You can buy Region 1 DVD's on Amazon.
I only saw a couple of the first series and decided I wasn't going to like it, I think because of the less subtle Americanness of it all. And it did just look too different from the original concept. However I watched his 40 Year Old Virgin the other night and found Carrell to be far funnier and cleverer than I had thought, not exactly subtle, but very good at delivering genuinely funny bits.
So, not a bad writer, a better than average comic actor...hmm, think I might even give another look at The Office AAWP, now that will be generous of me seeing I'm not a natural fan of US comedy.

The first series, I think it's only six or so episodes, is pretty poor, but then it kicks into gear and becomes completely its own show in series two. It's quite different to the original, but then who wants a carbon copy.

Yep, Amazon.co.uk
Took a couple of weeks to come through cost just under £30 with shipping.
There are sites online where you can find out whether your DVD player will take region 1 DVDs. Or, if it is possible to unblock to make them multi region.

I'm a little behind on watching this, yet to see any of the latest run, but Carrel is apparently leaving after the next series, and the producers are talking about carrying on without him. I know why they would want to, it's a big hit and money spinner no doubt, but the idea of The Office without Michael Scott?! Nope!

You got a DVD player for £20 in the mid-nineties? Hmm ...
*strokes chin*
