I don't think it said she was . .? Just that she was Scottish in an English village, and mentioned the fact she'd been there since she was a little girl, but had never lost the accent.

Proof, I think, that the twist wasn't exactly a twist, we were supposed to work it out, to be one step ahead of The Doctor. I think.
I watched it again last night too, I think the first twenty minutes or so, and the final ten, are about as perfect as I've ever seen Who; magical stuff. Smith is outstanding (The way he delivers that line, 'Basically . . . run . . ' !!); and the script, the look and direction, brilliant. It really did have a different look and directorial aesthetic.
