Not Going Out - Series 2 Page 31

Please God we don't get over a hundred episodes of Not Going Out.

Here's my ratings:

Jokes 9/10 *damn that cleaner*
Delivery 9/10 *damn that cleaner, again*
Characters 10/10
Plots 10/10 *really weird sometimes :))*

lose the cleaner and it's a perfect 10!

Please God we don't get over a hundred episodes of Not Going Out.

As long as they're all original and funny (admittedly increasingly unlikely as episodes get more numerous), I don't care if there are over 1,000 episodes! It's not the number, but the quality.

(But then, I suppose that that was probably what you were trying to imply anyway.)

Two Pints is unpopular on this board - that's obvious, but surely there are other shows that are more deserving of the treatment Two pints gets. It's not the worst show in the world. There are certainly a few sitcoms that are worse.

Grownups?

By the way Andrew, is the Christmas Special already written/filmed? And also is that the last we've seen of Guy? (personally I hope so, don't think you could get much more out of his character)

I wrote and delivered my first draft of the script some weeks ago, but due to the mad lead-time between recording and delivering the other seven episodes, it was put to one side. Lee was working on his draft over the weekend. The cast are doing a read-through in a small theatre tonight. So we'll see how it goes down. Lee, Simon Evans and Paul "Krenz" Kerensa are in charge of making it hilarious.

The Guy "arc" was designed to be wrapped up in the main series, which I think it pretty much was. But never say never.

One minor request for the writers if the show gets a third series (so hope so!) - could you write a few more "closes door" directions into the script. It bugs me how often the flat door is left wide open. Yes I'm pedantic!

But you see, we often need Tim to burst in, and if he had to knock, or even use a spare key, it would reduce the drama of that moment! (I know, it's not perfect, but until he and Lee live in the flat together ... )

I agree with this, i don't know if the audience figures have risen for the second series or not but i can see it gaining another couple of million or so after a few more series. Perhaps put it on at 8 rather than 930?

No figures for Friday's show yet, but last week's (Dating) was a healthy 3.5 million. We dipped while the rugby was on the previous week, but with HIGNFY rather than French & Saunders on first, we seemed to improve our numbers. Hooray.

I'm doing my bit on it as we speak, so it's nearly there - I hand it in tomorrow night at about one minute to rugby. I think it's looking great, and I've laughed out loud at plenty of it (bits other people wrote, I'm pleased to say). And it's making me feel all Christmassy.

So there you go, a much more accurate insight into the division of labour. (Did you leave any of my jokes in?)

Another great episode and sets it up nicely for the Christams special.
Question for Andrew or Krenz, are you hoping / expecting to do a third series or are you going to do what Ricky Gervais did with the Office and finish it after the Christams special? Certainly hope not! Can't wait to get series 1 DVD as missed a couple of the episodes so should be in for a treat.

Stan

Give us a third series! We have so much more love to give.

Do you always work separately, passing the scripts to each other to redraft? I always find that really hard but then again I'm a beginner :)

Ooh, I do like the sound of that.

Hums the theme tune to Men Behaving Badly.

Just been whizzing through the DVD extras - there are three epiosde commentaries with Lee and director Alex Hardcastle, and an interview with Lee and Tim on the set of series two.

So, there will be extras! Andrew, why isn't Tim or yourself aren't commentating? How come there are three commentaries and not six? (Not that I'm complaining - I got my complaining out of the way yesterday with my Two Pints rant!)

Grownups?

Yep!

Just back from the 'Murder at Xmas' read through.
My god it's good :D
It's going to be a shame to loose 10-15 minutes of it. :(

Can't they just talk quicker? :(

Murder! I hope it's not the cleaner.
Tell us stuff!

Whens the actual show? Any tickets available?

Sounds great. I do love commentaries.
I also have a sad addiction to out-takes.

No, don't! I read these forums and I don't want it spoiling my Christmas viewing.
