Well they had to ban it after featuring Julie Andrews. That was bang out of order she only played a nun.
And then she killed the Flying Nun.
Bitch I hate her.

No there definitely was.
But then, this is me.
I like the fact she jilted her husband to be to bugger off with the Doctor.

Women are fickle.
Just watched it on IPlayer. I rather like that young lady.

A man wrote it.

Male scriptwriters are also fickle.
The theme tune was bad. Smith's new Doctor was not great, but better than I feared he might be; Matt Smith in interviews is genuinely painful to watch. He comes across as such a massive tool, and one who neither knows nor cares about the series at all.
The plot was a bit crap. Obviously it wasn't going to be a full-on sci-fi dealie as they had to introduce the new Doctor, set him up, and find his assistant - but it was hard to folllow the logic of what the Doctor was doing at times.
Stepping through the vision of the old Doctors at the end, God, barf-enducingly cringeworthy. Keep that kind of thing to CBBC.
Oh, and that assistant bird needs a new accent. Her current voice makes me wish I was deaf.
Overall: roughly what I'd expected. Perhaps future episodes will benefit from plotting and whatnot, but as a stand-alone episode it was quite a step down from most others of the recent series.
I thought it was a step up.
Especially as it was an introductary type episode.

All this talk about the female companions in Doctor Who being sexy "for the dads" is a bit misleading. As a small child I was quite enamoured, nay, even smitten, by Leela and Romana II (Liz Shaw, Jo Grant and Sarah Jane Smith never did much for me, let alone Nyssa or Tegan). I don't recall my father ever watching Doctor Who.

Whenever Doctor Who came on my Dad hid behind the sofa, wanking.

Exhausted from wanking off to Pan's People?

Did he ever see anybody about his Sea Devil fetish?

You've got to admire his persistence in a way, there was none of this Viagra around when Bonnie Langford was in the show.
I said Sea Devil not Swamp Donkey or Fish Bitch.

But when you were a small child, your dad probably didn't watch it, as it was a kids' TV show. Now it's a mass-audience family deal, and the dads watch it because they loved it when they were kids.
