Quote: scratchyr @ April 1 2010, 3:25 PM BSTI do now, would have never thought of it had you not mentioned it. Can't remember much about it though.
I think it was something to do with a young footballer. (Which doesn't sound my sort of thing) but it was ace. It had Kieran O'Brien.
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ April 1 2010, 3:16 PM BSTThat was actually pretty good and edgy for its time. I had the book, but can't remember if the book was first or the TV show. The main character was called Alan Lipton and was a bit of a Jarvis Cocker-alike.
I don't remember them ever repeating it.
I'd like to see it again, although I fear I'd probably have to stick it on the shows that aren't as good as you remember thread.
He still looks like Gruey I see. Does he still do acting things?

It still sounds very good. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Jarvis
and apparently available on DVD now.
And today they have Hollyoaks.

Ha! Well he was in Cracker as his son.
I'm sure I've seen him in something recently too.
Does anyone remember another show, that was a bit like Gruey, called Bad Boys? It was about a lad, whose surname was Boys, who was always coming up with schemes to get out of trouble.

With a DVD release, it's not quite forgotten.

With Elvis Costello singing the theme tune and appearing as Scully's simple train-loving brother.
Mike & Angelo.
Quote: Steve Sunshine @ April 1 2010, 2:22 PM BSTJohnny Jarvis.
Scully.
I was going to mention Johnny Jarvis! I loved that! But now you and Dolly have it doesn't belong in this thread any more.
And surely lots of people remember Scully.
I'm voting for Neat and Tidy - Adventures Beyond Belief. It was on Channel 4 before/after The Tube in the late 80s.
Time travel shenanigans in The Flipside of Dominick Hide and it's sequel, Another Flip for Dominick. Avaliable on DVD.

That's your answer to everything.
How about Hardcastle and McCormack? I think it used to be on Sunday nights.
Quote: catskillz @ April 1 2010, 9:26 PM BSTHow about Hard_arsehole and McCornhole? I think it used to be on Sunday nights.
I think I'd have remembered that.
Does anyone remember the Sandbaggers?
And fat detectives? Pie in the Sky, Cannon, Jake and the Fatman.
You're only escape is to run up hill!
