Shows that are not as good as you remember

What comedy shows (or films) do you remember as being really good when you saw them when you were younger. But saw them recently and think they are not so great?

Old T.V. show called Animal Crackers. Used to love it but saw some on YouTube and it was so bad but suppose it's not actually aimed at thirty five year olds.

Citizen Smith
Alas Smith and Jones

News At Ten

Greenclaws. I used to love seeing what different colour seed they'd plant each day but having seen it on YouTube, I wouldn't recommend it.

Fingerbobs, on a repeat viewing, is not endowed with the level of genius I remembered it possessing when I was 5. :(

Also, The Black And White Minstrel Show. I'm not so keen on variety thesedays.

Thankfully C4's Minipops still retains its innocence, charm and good taste. :)

In fact you can't mean this, as this is good.

Oh lordy! Who at C4 though Minipops was a good idea?

Watching an old episode of Chelmford 123 on YouTube. Not as good as I remember.

Yeah it's cool and everything but not being really young has inevitably meant it's just not the same. Still have the double vinyl LP somewhere, stand out track; Boogaloo at the Zoogaloo.

'Lucky Jim' with Enn Reitel. Went on and on and on about it for years, finally got it out of the BBC Archive. Painful!

I have to disagree on 'Alas Smith and Jones' though - still find lots of it funny.

Ah yes Lucky Jim.
I remember liking that, I won't try to revisit it though.

I was thinking of The Goodies.
But it was still pretty good, just dated.

Enn Reitel!!? Whatever happened to the Delboy that wasn't?

Hmmm...according to Wikipedia, he does voice-overs for the X-Factor! I'm sure he had a programme on Radio 4 in about 1990 but they don't mention that.

Doesn't he do voiceovers for Bremner, Bird & Fortune?
