Replacing Jonathan Ross Page 5

John be careful, Zoo's already banned someone today and you know what women are like when they get a taste for something. Rolling eyes

Already banned somebody today? I say!

It doesn't matter who they replace him with on the film show, it'll still be on at about half past eleven. I can't stay up that late. I'm flagging now.

No.

They should repeat it on Sunday afternoons or something.
It's not like there's loads of adult content.

It does get repeated, on a Saturday lunch time.

I like Claudia W but in my mind - maybe wrongly - she has a very flaky persona and that's not what I want from the nation's most important film reviewer. I want substance, gravitas and believability. Funnily enough I thought JR was a decent host of Film xx because he toned down his rude-and-crude antics for the film audience. Maybe Claudia will be able to tone down her persona as well, but from this distance I am not optimistic.

Fortunately, as there has hardly been a decent film in the last 20 years the problem is only likely to be a minor one.

I thought he was ok in the studio on his own but was cringeworthingly bad when interviewing stars sometimes. The phrase "too big for his boots" springs to mind.

There's been hundreds of decent films in the last twenty years.

She might pop on a sensible skirt, a pair of glasses and be all serious secretary for it.

(Cor, I hear you say.)

I agree but Barry Norman was the same. I think we have to accept the Hollywood publicity machine will often mean fawniing interview or no interview. I'd prefer the latter but I understand why they go for the former.
