Quote: Nogget @ March 27 2010, 3:41 PM GMTI'm wondering how to get fix a problem with the two computers in the house, both of which are connected to the internet through homeplugs. I have to turn the modem off and on again every time I use the other computer, because it seems the modem will only recognise the last computer that has been used.
Sounds like the computers might both have been set to the same fixed IP address. Unless you really meant it when you said MODEM instead of a Router.
If you really do have a MODEM, buy a proper ROUTER.
Weird!
Maybe he had three windows open? Or something...
Cheers Timmy Tim Timothy.
He has perhaps logged on with two computers plus his phone all at the same time??
Quote: Aaron @ March 27 2010, 1:09 PM GMTLee, did you look at the others in the range or just pick up that when you saw it? Hope you're aware that it doesn't actually play HD content!
Yes, spent many hours, days and weeks browsing. Don't have a HD TV at the minute. This is just a cheap temporary solution. Got it today, works great.

No problems. Monitoring the members and guests online is my specialist area.

It has an AV output?

A new level of BCG sadness.

The signal comes in to a virgin cable modem, from that into a Zyxel homeplug, and then the two puters are also each connected to homeplugs. So that won't work?
Chip's logging off now. But he might leave 2 Chips' online to keep an eye on you all.

Does the modem handle (and is it set) to cope with with two IP addresses? Perhaps it will only cope with two 'puters at once if it can assign dynamic IP addresses to each?

It has a HDMI output with up-scaling, which is OK seeing as I don't "acquire" HD video. It also has the red, yellow, white cables but it connects using an ear phone socket thingy, which isn't the best option but obviously makes it more compact. Speaking of the compactnessess, it's great, but once you plug it in, it does resemble some sort of electrical spider with wires coming out at every end. But I'm happy with it.

Cool, I'll look into it.
