Nail polish and varnish are the same thing!
I've only ever used nail varnish remover. It's very cheap, if you can get to a supermarket.
White spirit might work though I suppose.

Nah, it's a short film for Sky Movies. I'm just playing a small role in it - one of many grim reapers. I get to walk into the sunset at the end with Alice Lowe though, which is nice.

Surgical spirit will also remove nail varnish/polish.
Baby oil or olive oil can remove the eye make-up but take out contact lenses first if you use them.

Acetone is the usual stuff for getting nail polish off.
It's the main ingredient of "Nail Polish Remover" available from most Chemists.
