The Runaways. Named after the band she was in.

Which band?
Quote: Aaron @ March 20 2010, 4:58 PM GMTDebbie Harry is a skank.
Maybe so but as skanks go, she's top quality skank of the highest order.
Agree with DD over the Debbie Harry / JJ debate. It's definitely Harry I think of when it comes to female influence and most of the many musicians I know would put her over JJ by a considerable margin. Plus DH was in the world's biggest punk band (by sales); although I disagree with the genre they've placed her in. Blondie weren't so much punk in the UK sense, more as a toned-down palatable version of British New Wave for the American market. IMO.
When she was young, Debbie Harry was gorgeous. Nowadays her face is too wide.

Or her body narrowed? Wasn't she quite old when she got success?
She was apparently the reason someone got kicked out of Yes. They were holed up with her in a motel while recording had started on the other side of the Atlantic.
Robyn is so tired but so glad Elliot's record player is now up and running.

Well there is this: http://designyoutrust.com/wp-content/uploads5/debbie_harry_01.jpg
But she really has a terribly unattractive face.
Is that supposed to be her?

She's an old woman now!

I think in 'rock and roll' terms she was knocking on a bit by the time fame arrived, yeah.
In her Blondie heyday I did like that sneer she always displayed whilst singing. Like someone smelling a really bad fart. Maybe that was the secret of their success, having a flatulent bass player?

Not a fan of the plastic surgery she's obviously had, but Joan still looks pretty good.

Joan Baez? Joan Rivers? Joan of Arc? (Cosmetic surgery has come on leaps and bounds...)
I saw DH at Glastonbry when Blondie reformed.
She waved to the crowd and declared
"Grandma loves ya!"

Was that 1999? I think that was the year I went to Glasto, and Blondie were playing.
