Can't you chop it open with a Stanley knife like I did to a wart I had when I was young, and pick the bits out with a set of tweezers?

Not really. A ganglion is essentially a benign neurovascular tumour. Some disappear spontaneously, but if persistent they really should be operated upon. They tend to be a little too close for comfort to one's radial artery. Trying to treat them yourself may also result in sensory nerve damage to your hand.

It's a right eyeopener and they seem to go for a lot of shots of scantily clad women which surprises me.

Men is men.

Have you got a picture of you being surprised by scantily clad women?

The Mail's strength is in actual newspaper sales. Not sure how popular it's online presence is.

I buy it every day, take the crossword out and the rest goes on the cat litter pile.

Is your cat right-wing then?

I demand to see it! :D

A German publisher has just approached me wanting to publish my pyschology thesis, hurrah!

Unfortunately I've never written such a thesis and they've either got the wrong person, or this is a new more sophisticated phishing scam playing on vain wannabe intellectuals.

I wouldn't worry too much, Dolly, it would still be fairly unlucky to do any serious damage. If a ganglion does persist, it's really a very simply little operation with minimal recovery time and hardly any scarring. :)

Having seen the film Mannequin I actually find this a bit of a turn on myself.
