Not really. A ganglion is essentially a benign neurovascular tumour. Some disappear spontaneously, but if persistent they really should be operated upon. They tend to be a little too close for comfort to one's radial artery. Trying to treat them yourself may also result in sensory nerve damage to your hand.

I wouldn't worry too much, Dolly, it would still be fairly unlucky to do any serious damage. If a ganglion does persist, it's really a very simply little operation with minimal recovery time and hardly any scarring.
