I was listening to a radio interview the other day with the head of CBBC; he was saying that he would never commission a show like Noggin the Nog today because children would be too easily distracted and just switch over. Not sure it is on topic, but it made me very sad, and it perhaps says something about the sort of received wisdom from men in suits that squeezes originality and creativity out of the commissioning process.

No I'm absolutely agreeing with you, and I think you know what I mean. I kind of grew up with the BBC and then my growth was stunted with Birt.

It seems bizarre, with about 45 channels catering to the idiots, that the Beeb feels they need to compete.
Oh, well, perhaps I'll stick to films.
