'Mentalist' star shares Red John theory

Tim Kang has revealed that he believes the identity of the Red John killer on The Mentalist is a character that the audience is not familiar with.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Kang - Kimball Cho on the crime drama - ruled out the possibility of his role being the murderer.

"I don't think that that's very likely [to be someone we already know]," he said. "If they decide to do something like that, it's for the shock value. I might be a bit disappointed if that happens - there needs to be an exploration of another character.

"If the story is moved forward, it'll shed more light. I think it is more interesting to have it be someone we don't know, because then you get to know a new person. It's a tougher route to go, but ultimately it's more interesting."

He added: "It's definitely not me!"

Kang also said that he believes the show will change dramatically once the truth is revealed, but said that he is excited about taking the series in a new direction.

You ruddy great mentalist!

I'm mad, me. Crazy as a Fox.

Oh f**k off, you dirty Commie. I'm sorely tempted to place phrases relating to Tiananmen Square on every page.
