British Comedy Guide

Please vote "Slagg" over at Yobi too. Please.

Could I beg you all to nip over to:

http://yobi.tv/yobilaugh/semifinalists/view/239

and give us a vote please. We're desperate for the money after SlagA's talent transplant rejected him and we're rapidly running out of body parts to sell. We now share one kidney between three of us.

As has been noted elsewhere you may need to register an account (quick and easy)
but if you do, and add a brief comment on the Slaggs' video at Yobi, I'll put you in a draw for a free Slaggs' DVD plus a CD of SlagB's band's latest power-pop CD: Is this the best that Evolution could come up with? And, yes, he had me in mind when he devised that title. And, yes, I realise the offer of a free Slagg DVD may have finally sunk all my 'undecideds'.

With thanks, as always for your time.
SlagA

Voted! :)

Done.

I've already voted for Bussell. Can I vote twice? Or do I need to re-register with a phony-baloney name and a different email address to vote for you?

You can vote for both, Kenneth, you prince among thieves!

Hmm. All this willy-nilly voting without fair appraisal of all finalists seems a mite unfair. So I clicked on the clip of 'black cat in a tux' guy (as his avatar is interesting), but what a disappointment, there was just some bloke doing a good impression of a loser talking crap. The next obvious thing to view was the girl in the bikini. No comedy, but so what? Then to the minicab controller pretending to be an actor's agent. Had to stop that by the umpteenth "buzz". Next on to the haunted toilet sketch - mercifully short and crap. Then almost back to the bikini clip, but instead to the one below it due to the enticing name (Henrietta's Hot). However, Henrietta is not hot and is prone to excessive self-affirming nodding, yet her jokes aren't bad. Scrolling down, looking for something interesting, loads of stand-up, ah, there's a prank call. And it starts promisingly, but alas it's not nasty enough - the prankster has no desire to bewilder or infuriate his target. So more scrolling down, and there's Bussell and loads more stand-up and then Dave Granger and more stand-up, and right at the end an impressionist. And he's pretty ordinary at best, but at least he's the very first online impression I've ever seen of Sid James (including the dirty laugh), so he gets my vote. And I don't even rewatch the bikini clip.

Quiet day at the office then?

Did you not like like the Keys sketch? I really liked that. You may have watched his biog. Yobi asked people to upload 3 mins about themselves.

I personally prefer watching sketches online to stand up online. S'better live, innit.

Have you got a sketch on there Greensville?
I forget who's on there, I voted for the Slaggs, Bussell, and some impressionist guy.
I didn't watch them all.

No, the Keys sketch didn't tickle my fancy. I didn't mind the Hot Towels sketch though, as I have often been there: going to a restaurant midway through a three-day drinking bender to get some food into me and to 'shower' with the hot towel provided on a salver. The speed with which the chap swilled his brandy was also familiar.

Not this year. I'm doing an intro to each week though. Here's the one for week 1 (with Matthew Stottsville)

http://yobi.tv/yobilaugh/

Thanks to everyone who's voted for us, really appreciated. :)

Just a quick ask for people to remember to vote for us before Sunday, for this week's eliminator round.

:)

:$ and double :$ :$

Feel absolutely terrible for bumping this but we are in the penultimate round and the next round is the biggie, where we start to make a little money, so please, please, please could you all remember to vote for us between now and Saturday at:

http://yobi.tv/yobilaugh/semifinalists/view/239

As has been noted you may need to register an account if it's your first time (quick and easy) but if you do, and add a brief comment on the Slaggs' video at Yobi, I'll put you in a draw for a free Slaggs' DVD plus a CD of SlagB's band's latest power-pop CD.

With thanks and my sincere apologies - I wouldn't need to do this if it was a one-off vote but these subsequent rounds are a reet pain.

Have decided that as a special incentive, if we do get through we'll add an extra prize to the lucky voter who leaves a comment on the vid but I can't say what it is yet because it hasn't actually been determined yet. But if it does come together, it will be rather nice.
;) :)
