Am I a criminal? Page 5

Quote: Aaron @ October 19, 2007, 10:57 PM

yeah, at what age does one cease to be one o'da yoot and join the legions of the, I dunno, adults? Oldies? Whatever the next one up is.

I am immature but not young(28), does that make me a yoot(a word i would never use), an adult or just a twat?

Anyone below one's age is young and anyone above one's age is old.

To be fair, I'd never actually have sex with anyone under sixteen - or even eighteen - because they're such annoying pains in the arse.

The crazy thing about our society is that you go to prison for looking at pictures of underage girls (which is right enough) but if you father a child with one, you get social security. What the hell happened there? Sex with an underage girl should be punishable whether the man is 18 or 80.

Tis the law but it's not equally enforced. Apparently the same crime is less or more illegal depending on your race, gender, age, social standing, etc.

growing up i always thought of 30 as being old, i am now approaching it and am getting very scared. I have no desire to grow up.

So what type of person would be punished the worst?

Ugly ones.

But then you wouldn't flirt in the first place, surely?

Not trying to cause arguments but no guy will ever know what it's like to be a girl with a guy. You're trying to be cool - yer maybe flirting but there's always this worry about where it will lead to. No one (at that age) wants to be uncool and not flirt back. Girls are very very deep beings and for a girl who over analyses a situation it's intimidating. So yes- girls can flirt and feel intimidated at the same time. COMPLEX!!!!

More than just complex Ellie... boringly complex.

Why don't you girls just do and say what you mean? You'd get much more respect from men (real men that is, not those assholes who think they are real men..)

It's not 'exciting' to be contradictory in the way you describe, it's really.. well, dull..

I have loads of experience on this topic and sometimes I've wished I was a Monk and could get away from women who just won't be honest and straightforward.

Men play games too, and are dishonest, we all know that but they do it just because they want to play around with lots of girls. It's clear and straightforward and absoloutely obvious to anybody with half a brain that they do that.

But women and dishonestly, dishonest!

You misunderstand the process. My dad is over 80 years old and still hasn't grown up. There is growing old and growing up. They are completely different.

I'll never grow up either.. Huzzah!! <cough, splutter...>

Oooh, well i hope i haven't been dishonest to anyone. And to be fair i'm not the kind of girl (as in the beauts) that people look at on trains and buses... just sticking up for those i see it happen to. So maybe i'm not the right person to comment.

I don't mean to be contradictory, sorry if i am!

fair enough, i don't mind getting old. That said people put expectations on you to behave a certain way and when you don't you get treated badly sometimes, so in some cases you do have to growup. In court for example.

I wasn't meaning you personally, just a woman thing in general.

Like the flirting thing, flirting to be 'cool' .. what a daft idea! (Sorry!)

And as for the bus/train staring thing. Men stare at women and have been doing for tens of thousands of years, so let's all not feel too guilty. With men, the problem is both in their jeans and their genes.

Men weren't designed for monogamous relationships, the caveman mated with many different women, as many as he could and the younger the better, and that was the norm in those days. Younger women had more chance of going full-term with a child.

Physiologically, we've not really changed that much since those times but society has (at least on the surface) its expectations. All men appreciate younger women physically. How can they fight that when it is 'normal' physically to have that attraction? That's why it is mainly younger women who are models, particularly in mens magazines..

That's also why I say castrate rapists and paedophiles as they can't control their basic urges and IMO they cannot be cured/rehabilitated and so they become repeat offenders, which is not fair on their new victims (the poor victims are almost always kids and women)

Of course my views are treated with disdain by many, but I can't change what I think just because it's not currently fashionable, otherwise I wouldn't be being true to myself, would I?

If I'm wrong, I am sincerely wrong (if you take my point)

I think under age girl should all have big bells round their necks and when ever men look at them the ring the bell and shout "I'M UNDERAGE!!!" That'll sort it out I bet

But surely these girls have some responsibility for the way they dress?

Why do they want all their bits hanging out and skirt up to their arse anyway? Do they like getting their meat out then? What's it all about?

It's certainly not to attract a man for a 'relationship' 'cos if it is, they have got the wrong idea completely and ought to listen to their parents!

Quote: Frankie Rage @ October 19, 2007, 6:44 PM

But that doesn't explain why girls do it?

The men that do that may do it 'cos they want to show they are 'macho' and they tend to be up for sex whenever and with any 'fit' woman (almost any woman.. ;)) who is willing...

So is it that way for young girls too then?

Because you are implying it is but saying it isn't, so which is it?

I am puzzled like many men as to why a girl with big boobs (for example) almost has them hanging out, but then complains when men look...

Jolly Jehovah!

Quote: Frankie Rage @ October 19, 2007, 7:10 PM

You are missing my point, I think. I agree, no girl should be thought to be 'asking for it' just by the way she's dressed.

And I TOTALLY agree that you OUGHT to be able to dress as you like. BUT in the real world out there, with freedom comes responsibilty (ask Aaron..) and I think young girls who go out dressed in their skimpies (especially when they go out on the piss) are taking a lot of risks and putting themselves in danger, and they are in fact, acting irresponsibly.

You can't just do what you want and always get away with it. You have to take some responsibilty for your own safety.

Hopefully, you're only in court as a defendant if you're guilty, assuming you mean when you are under a charge of some kind.

I've been in court for traffic offences and it seemed like a good idea to me to wear a suit and tie and be reasonable with the Judge. I did tell the Judge the truth and also told him I didn't agree with the law. He said I had his sympathies but he had to fine me, as it was the law, and so he did.

I didn't feel any need to go to court all bolshy and strip off naked in the court of something, or throw water at the Judge. Not sure what you mean by 'not grown up behaviour'...

Why is it so hard to be presentable and reasonable with people? Even in a suit and tie, I don't feel grown up. Your perception of me would be that I was grown up, but your measure of me would be superficial. It's all in the mind, not how long your hair is, or what clothes you are wearing, they are trivialities.

In my mind I remain young and carefree.

John Lennon summed it up in a very early Beatles song called "Theres a place (and it's my mind)"
