Sending texts from a PC; are there any truly free sites for it? If not, what might be a good way of doing it; I'd much rather use my keyboard to text than my phone.
Sending Texts From a PC
I think O2 do it. Look at your provider online and see what services they offer.

Have you used them without a problem?
I tried them but the message didn't get sent, and there was a 'free trial' page they wanted me to sign up for.
EDIT. Ok, it works for me now, sometimes; there's a 'high demand' apparently.
I've used them before but bit pointless I get free texts, most are fine they just bombard you with advertisements.
Yeah, it's a bit temperamental but when it works, it seems ok. Don't bother ticking 'allow reply to this text' though as it'll charge the receiver.

Damn!
I've got Connection Manager or somesuch on my laptop which allows me to send texts, but only when I have my sim card plugged into the back of the laptop.
I used to use sms.ac, many years ago. No idea if it still exists though.
I see cardboard fish offer a 2p texting service from your mobile. I'm currently on a pay-as-you-go, which costs a lot more than that. Can anyone recommend a cheap 'add on' texting service?
I use 3. Which is flipping cheap.
wow, this is weird.
All (three) operators here offer SMS from their sites - although to their clients only. (i.e., I need to go to my sister's operator site to send her SMS), and they are free.
There are sites that offer sending free SMS to any operators, but I have never had any need to use them.
Anyways, since I got touchscreen phone with virtual keyboard, it is so much easier to type SMS back ASAP.
