Heh. I always used to take my birthday off work. To avoid fuss. That and try not to tell anyone what date it was.
I am probably weird.
I used to do the same Zooo. Found the whole thing very embarrassing.
All my lot paraded in once. To give me a stone statue of a cat for my garden.
Where the hell they got that idea from I'll never know.
I had to smile and say how wonderful it all was. And then they won't go. They just kept staring at me as though I were going to make the stone feline come to life!
