'Normalism' (my shame)

I am was a victim of 'Normalism' for many years.

I was white, British, heterosexual, average height, average build, average looks, average intelligence, non-religous, not-too-young-not-too-old, able bodied, non-druggy and had a job and of course living in London I was a COMPLETE PARIAH to all the gay, lesbo, black, druggy, etc. (you fill in the blanks) out of work losers around me: I was so lonely and ashamed of my low status.

But now I am older, I have ageism to keep me warm at night. It's great to be put down by everybody for my age. Thank you for making me feel like I have a place in our society, at last! On the train last night a 'young man' said to his girlfriend, 'oi, I thought you were behind me, bitch I nearly grabbed that old blokes hand...'

I smiled with contentment, I now belong.. presumably now I can moan my arse off and blame society for all my ills like the rest of the so-called 'downtrodden minorities' ? ;)

No, people will just complain that you moan.

"There goes an old man," They'll say, "He's probably not happy with his lot."

You're right, you can't win... ;)

I am inherently happy believe it or not and more so as I get older. My only problems are financial, anything else I can deal with, and I'm on the case making more dosh too at the mo! :)

Any day when you're not dead, is a good day!

i think i'm going the other way to you frankie, i started off a freak(still am) and i'm getting more and more 'normal' by the day. By the time i hit 40 i expect i'll be shopping in M&S and reading the mail.

i can then kill myself in peace.

P.S. hows the plotting and planning for nanowrimo coming along?

Ah yes, the nano...

I am just going to go for it free form and lead into something new?

No plan, just type like hell and see where it takes me....

I'll love it, just got to get into the discipline of doing it daily, not easy with work.. probably means you won't see me as much on here in Nov. and that's probably a good thing...

:S

i won't notice frankie, i've got my own unplanned 50 000 word monster to deal with. I'm quite looking forward to it actually.

P.s. do you not go on 4 laughs anymore? they have brought the captions back, you might win one this time!!

Aren't you tempter to start early and get some of it out the way? Or is that CHEATING? Sorry, haven't read the rules! :D And well done - i think it's a great idea. I wouldn't have the discipline to sit there and do it.

Well you'd only be cheating yourself I reckon. I've been good at cheating myself most of my life... ;) I've tried to stop doing that! I am not worried about the number of words per day. I sit and type at work all day anyway so I'll just have my masterpiece open as well and keep doing a bit.

By the inch it's a cinch, by the yard it is hard.

Plus if I don't go on 4laughs and BSG for a month that's all those words too, plus the reading time. I will come on BSG and do the weekly sketch comp though as I love that thing!

I can do the 50K. The 1666.6 words a day I'll split into 200ish word stints when I'm working and I'll do it in one session on my days off. The 10 Nov I probably will have to have off as we're JM's filming that day (as you know!)

Also, the NaNo is looking good to me now as I've decided to develop the plot of my sitcom/dramedy as a novel so I can see where it might go. Also develop some character history and futures and anything else I can think of as I type like a good 'un.

:)

I'm impressed! It would be awesome to read it! :)

yeah that is a good idea frank. Post some of your novel up half way through,(i.e. the wanking scene).

Good luck though, i know i need it.

Chris seemed ok, it's a pity 4laughs is dying a slow death.

Maybe we should invade it and take it over.

I'm doing little bits to my Nanu thing - just givingmyself a springboard becauseI've got no idea what it's about or where it's going.

I bet loads of people write about the difficulties of writing a novel.

i'm guessing most people just write random crap.

My natural inclination is to write thrillers but i would like to do something different for this. I start planning tomorrow!

I will post some extracts from the 'garbage' I write!

I did post a bit of my sitcom over on 4laughs. I think it got 2laughs!!! Laughing out loud
