The Sketch Show (with Lee Mack et al)

Yes, it was years ago. But did you see it and enjoy it?

I thought it was better than Little Britain and all of them that came after it.

Yes, I used to watch it!

There's some more info on it in this thread https://www.comedy.co.uk/forums/thread/3491/

I used to enjoy this.
Tim Vine was in this as well wasn't he?
And the Double Bass fella Jim Tavare.
And Karen Taylor I think.

And Ronni Ancona.

Critics were very sniffy at the time, but I enjoyed it.

Kelsey Grammar enjoyed it enough to make his own version.

I used to watch it. Really enjoyed it.

Probably my second favourite sketch show, after Not The Nine O' Clock News.

Not seen a single second of it. DVD candidate?

Silly sketches, often obvious but likeable performers & lots of laughs.
I wouldn't mind watching it again.

Was this the one with the famous penis-holding gents pub toilet sketch?

I don't remember this - but what a stellar cast. Ronni and Karen! Wow!

California Dreaming was brilliant :) Laughing out loud

They remade The Sketch Show in several countries using all the same sketches as the original UK. There are versions in USA, Canada, Germany, Greece, Israel, even an Indonesian version. There was a DVD made of the UK Sketch Show but it was only released in Australia for some bizarre reason. I bought a copy of it on Ebay a few years ago, and I think it's still available there to buy.
There are loads of clips on YouTube, including the famous 'toilet sketch'. The Sketch Show won a BAFTA Award in 2001 and they did a 2nd Series, it's a shame we didn't see any more of it after this.

There are copies of the Australian release on eBay sometimes, if you search for 'The Sketch Show'.

Yes it was.

I enjoyed this sketch show at the time. Quite old fashioned and basic, but entertaining.
