Just got back from a tour of Berlin and Krakow. Saw some great sites, yet them Nazi atrocities are horrible close up. Visited Auschwitz yesterday and could feel tears in my eye and felt horribly sick. Saw some other people break down. Two amazing cities though it has to be said. I have learnt so much over the past week.
Very Moving
I would quite like to go to Auschwitz.
(But not until the sign's back.)
It is back.
IIRC the current one is a copy. The original is still undergoing restoration. Unless you saw differently whilst you were there?
Yes, I remember the Tour Guide saying something along them grounds now. I just feel and still do feel physically sick after what I saw in the camps. It just seems incredibly callous to me.

If only I had the money . . . .
I went to Saccsenhausen concentration camp with school last year. It had chucked it down with snow, which just accentuated just how painful it all was. Nobody spoke to each other for about an hour afterwards, because there was just nothing we could say. Our teachers had to take us out somewhere in the evening so we didn't sit and wallow in it. I don't know that I could cope with Auschwitz, and my teachers who had been there certainly found it hugely traumatic.
Wimps!

I'd worry about what to do with my face. At funerals, even if I really loved and miss the person, I get an overwhelimng urge to smirk. I'd be like that at one of these places where terrible atrocities occured.
You could wear a big scarf.
You could take that lovely lady from your avatar and have her sit upon it?

Yes. That would look respectful.

That's well funny.
I went to Auschwitz a couple of years ago, and found it eery, moving and quite scary.
Which was good preparation for the nightclubs and bars in Krakow.
