No, you're allowed to travel with firearms. They must be unloaded, no ammo, declared in advance and packed in your checked baggage. They treat your bags with special care and ensure that the firearms are in place until you pick them up. I've heard stories about people who landed with not-legal-in-this-state guns who were subsequently arrested.

Ellie is at work after a long drive in (took an hour to do 2.6 miles) and is not looking forward to going to Swindon later along the dreaded M4 on a Friday!!
