What happens with the five minute commute, do you do a different degree programme?

Yep, it's a similar degree, but there isn't the hands on training and internship opportunities with the school near home.
The possibilities for intern placements sound like they could be a winner. How would you be commuting, by car?
Yeah, we don't have public transport out here in Gooberville.
45 minutes isn't too bad, unless it has a knock on effect with child care etc,.
Well, the tough part would be working out a schedule for getting my kids to and from school (we're too close for the kids to ride the bus, but way too far for them to walk, IMO), my husband to work (he's legally blind and unable to drive), and then me to school with a 45 minute commute. My kids' grandparents have repeatedly proven themselves to be unreliable when it comes to caring for our kids and all of our friends who are nearby have their own issues. The local school would have been ideal.
Oh happy 4,000th post to me!! Wow.
Ellie has been so busy today. She loves busy days. Busy days make her feel important.

Is it a full time course then, like 9 to 5 or similar hours?
It sounds like a really frustrating position to be in, Andie. I hope something comes up for it to work out for the best. If the worst comes to the worst you do the same course (almost) at the local school, right? If it's hands on teaching and intern placements that you would be missing out on I'm sure you could make up for these things a bit by putting yourself out there a bit. Obviously I don't know lots about this because I'm not exactly world-wise, but I figured the best chance you have of normally getting such placements stems from contacting as many people as possible? Though, like I said, I am well aware I could be completely mistaken.
I guess you have to weigh up whether the disruption to your life is worth the bonuses of the other school.
I don't envy your position, Andie and I really do wish you all the best with this.

What's keeping you so busy Ellie, another big band getting back together?
I have been not so busy and Robyn will tell me off if I do not do something to make myself busy soon! Eep!
Have a beer and a think. That's darn busy.

Just very tedious things like cutting down a plant that had taken over the record label's office... and cleaning meetings and team meetings and courier meetings.
I thought we had illegal immigrants to do that sort of thing? (The plant cutting, that is)

Had a shitty busy day at work. Going out to the pub tonight to get pissed. At least two points of Guinness. I'll be f**king hammered after that.
The local school only offers the basic 2 year Communications degree, with only 2 radio related classes. Any internships have to be totally arranged by the student. The 45 minute one way drive school offers a 4 year Bachelor's degree in Communications with a concentration in Radio Broadcasting. They are partnered with all the local stations for internships.

Unfortunately, I needed to sort it out as it had grown through a window, and into the ceiling and it's not my cleaners responsibility to sort it out.
