Big 5 Comedy Award Page 4

This might have been said already (I must admit I skipped through some of the longer posts) By ignoring the so called 'advantaged' is this award actually turning that group into the disadvantaged? Maybe it is the wording that is dubious, maybe under represented and over represented would have been better. I would have thought though that the only thing that matters should be the quality of the script, background, nationality and gender shouldn't be an issue whatsoever!

According to their Facebook and Twitter pages the deadline has been pushed forward to March 12th to give us more time to "hone our scripts"; what exactly are they trying to say?! Pirate

Thanks for the info Marooned - they should update the webpage with that sort of information!

You're welcome.

I expect they will update the webpage once they feel they've had sufficient quantities of tea and crumpets.

I'm pleasantly surprised with the amount of good ideas I've come up with for my script because most of my good ideas are usually invested in conversational banter, leaving me otherwise dry.

How's everyone else getting on with theirs?

I've got the main script ready. I'm just re-drafting it and checking the length.

Awesome.

Just in case you missed the post - the deadline's been pushed forward to March 12, but it sounds like you're finished anyhow. Cool

I don't know about finished. My main concern is whether I've over-run with my script - or in my case, monologue.

6-10 minutes max. is how long they want the scripts to be.

Yes, I'm worried that I've gone beyond 10 minutes.

Good luck with it anyway. :)

I see that these awards can also help with the cost of childcare. What a fab idea!

The site hasn't updated the closing date though.

Have you seen the app form. It wants referees of high standing and everything. Eh?

I don't think they're needed initially and when they are it's (I presume) to confirm any claims you make to a disadvantaged background, being a woman, etc.

My gynecologist is doing mine.

Same here! Wait...what?!
