Doctor Who... Page 392

How about going here:

-and clicking on 'New Series Preview' in the video section. There's the Tarids, and there's an excitingly put together batch of snippets from the actual forthcoming episodes. Now that's a brilliant advert for what's coming.

I don't know. It very much sounds like the Doctor is about to jump the shark.

Watch the ad I just put up and tell me that! Steven Moffatt is in charge, he who wrote most of the very best new episodes, I doubt it's suddenly going to be shit.

Some big thug willing to bop a Dalek on it's eye stalk.

The Doc himself actually does that in the Advert I just put up.

Quote: Ben @ February 21 2010, 11:51 AM GMT

Yeah! Like Ace! I always found her a bit sexy.

Yes.

Well, yeah, but I saw that originally and liked it, but this new ad has completely changed my thinking. How could they do that?

I almost hope the new series is shit, just so we can watch Stott suffer a complete mental breakdown. Excellent!

Why would they show it? This trailer doesn't mean they actually now travel by jumping into the time vortex, it was just a visual thing for the ad!

The Tardis is Iconic, I'd of rather seen that for a minute then gushy holyoaks esque star gazing.

Are they getting rid of the Tardis?

Whistling nnocently

Well, I liked it, especially Matt's last few lines. But I doubt it'll ever beat this...

That actually gave me goosebumps.

Ecclestone was the daddy.

The new ad was shit, hopefully the new series won't be. It was obviously made chiefly for 3D viewing at the cinema, as Stott says, and would probably look pretty good. But as a TV ad it fails miserably.

Ecclestone was the daddy.

He was is still is the boss.

Yes.

I expect some BBC exec wants to replace the Tardis with an iPhone.

Yar, Yar. The Phone box doesn't speak to our demographic. We were thinking an Iphone and the Doctor an Twitter his way through time.

An iphonebox? With a sonic screwdriver app?

OMG cybermen got fat.

Quote: Matthew Stott @ February 20 2010, 8:00 PM GMT

Well, it's not actually from an episode, is it. Watch the earlier ad, that looks brilliant.

Yes, well, thank you for that. Is doesn't need to be an episode to look like one!

Quote: Ben @ February 20 2010, 8:06 PM GMT

You're only as good as your last advert.

Thank you.

Quote: The Rook @ February 21 2010, 5:15 PM GMT

Yes, well, thank you for that.

That's okay, it was my pleasure.

Saw the ad today for the first time, dreadful. The logo is also shocking, looks like something from the 80's. I still think the series will be very good though, Moffat won't let us down.

In a borderline boiler sort of way? You know she'd give you a snog after that posh school girl one dumped you and Leela threatened to jab you in the plums.

Sootyj offers himself up as a new Dr Who companion. A failed comedy writer, I'll alternately bop things with a rubber mallet and say "What's that doctor?" whilst pointing at stuff.

Ohhh. That actress I keep seeing everywhere (and on the Baftas now) with extremely short hair, is Sally Sparrow! :O

Yikes.
