Sorry!
I meant the best thing to date.

And I'm sure it will.. just kidding Cottsy :D

I think this is much sharper than some of the other stuff you wrote. Shades of Alan Benett in there in the single camera monologue.

And I really like the feeling of a character at war with himself as well as the nicely formed character of the unseen mother.

How ever the intro is a little clunky. Perhaps have him talking about writing to Dave Cameron as oposed to joining the conservative party. I could view him narrating the whole thing to DaveyC.

Also thugs wouldn't call him gaylord, they'd be a lot nastier.

But I do like the dark wit.

I think it's because they're not really thugs - they're 10 and 11 year old kids bullying the local 'weird' kid. :)

What's a gaylord?

Just a affectionate name for a homosexual, generally used in banter to a straight mate in my experience.

What's a gaylord?

Jeffrey Archer when his cell mate tells him to bite the pillow.

But they're drinking cider (which some 10 and 11 years old do granted)/

It just felt too much the sort of insult a nice middle class kid would use, it's not the biggest dealy.

A young Tory who likes Maggie and the Daily Mail is a tad cliche, but it's certainly a step up from your last couple of things.

I'm glad you think I'm improving but he's more then a young Tory who likes Maggie and the Daily Mail, much more.

I agree with SlagA that this may turn out to be the best thing he's ever done.

Although the word in the industry is that Back to Class 2 - Does your Mother Know may turn out to be the best thing that anyone has ever done.
And you can quote me on that.

There's not a lot to beat Laughing out loud

When you say the word in the industry you mean Twitter.

The way the writings going at the moment Back to Class - Does Your Mother Know? will be the funniest thing I have ever done.

Poor James.

Everyone is making him sound like he's eighty, and after hundreds of roles has finally peaked.

I'm not even 20 yet! And I've only created six characters. I'm getting there but I don't think I've peaked yet, with a bit of practice I might be able to come up with my own comedy sketch show called Cotter's Peak Practice. Were I James Cotter try out a various amounts of comedy characters with hilarious results finally after eight series I find the one voted by you the public.

:D Thank you. It's always great to have shades of Alan Bennett.

It does give me a lot of scope for different reactions for different scenarios. He won't always react to things in the same way. The unseen mother is a character I really like too.

He's not joining he's renewing his membership.

Like it's already been said the thugs are ten years old with Liam Kingston being 11.

Couldn't have summed it up better myself :)

It's one down from a Greylord.

I think in this situation they would.

Stop talking about it and record it James. It will take ten minutes.

What's a gaylord?

A happy Doctor Who?

I have Alan Bennett's shades. I'm selling them on eBay, if anyone's interested. When you put them on you see the real world subtitled with social commentary, plot structure, and character arc. Kinda like a South Banks' version of They Live.

I like to take a little more time with my recordings then ten minutes but I get the jist of what your saying.
