British Comedy Guide

A full blown attack on as many voices as possible! Page 3

I've watched it and I thought it was embarrassing.

Welcome to the board funnyfnarr,

I see you've already been warned about trolling – by more than one person. I wonder if this is your only hobby..? Do you have anything constructive to offer about the video, other than dressing up direct insults as merely 'opinions'?

Oh, hang on; you've rather worryingly hinted you may post your own stuff one day – one day. Well, I'd be intrigued to watch your contribution to the world of comedy. My reason for this wouldn't be to grant your comments more 'credibility' (everyone is entitled to an opinion), but because there appears to be such a huge gulf between your lofty tone on what is good comedy (which I sometimes agree with) and the frankly dire quality of your own writing and suggestions on this board - it's almost like something gets lost in translation.

A natural facility with surreal comedy eh? Yeah, reading your Newsjack contributions had the sublime edginess of prime Peter Cooke coupled with the surreal, watch-softening power of a 1930s Dali (unfortunately time really did stand still after the fourth line, but it's all 'relative' I suppose). Visionary masterpiece? Dream on.

Having said that, I shall certainly keep my eyes peeled for future video contributions of yours, when you pluck up the courage. I suspect, however, you may change your name – again.

Thanks for the input.

Michael

Crikey!
Who was that an impression of?
You may want to try to get some feedback from Tim Walker.
He's the fella on this site who's most into impressions.
(That may not be quite true)

I can do an impression or two myself, but you're much better than me.
So by way of proper Critique I watched it again & listed the ones that I felt didn't work as well as the others.

Wiggum
William Hague
Ned Flanders
Terry Christian
Tony Green
Smithers
Arthur Lowe
Dale Winton
The speaking clock

Also the likes of Grant Mitchell, George from rainbow, Mikey from BB, Beavis & Butthead are a bit out of date, but you were trying to cram in as many as you could.
There was a lot to like, some were spot on, although you can never tell when you're only doing a phrase.
Your Stephen Fry mmmmaaaah was uncanny and then it lost it a bit.

Overall I'd say it was pretty good.
But agree with some others about the intro/outro.

Laughing out loud

Thanks Steve!

LOL! Not sure who that was an impression of. Perhaps a new character?

Feedback like that is great and thanks for taking the time to critique it. Yeah, I did cram in a lot, which was actually my intention; I think I did around 60, but not totally sure. Although I've had a lot of really positive comments, I honestly do listen to constructive criticism. There are some interesting, creative people on this forum, so it's good to make new friends too.

BTW, did you watch The Editor's comment I did a while back? I'm not going to post it here because it specifically relates to an improvised cookery programme one of my friends did – it was my big 'acting' debut. Haha!

Oh get ovr yourself. I thought your impressions were embarrassing deal with it. You've had high praise from other whats the problem? I'm not the only one to have given you negative feedback so why do you feel the need to get all snooty and precious about your work? I'm not a troll and your work isnt worth bothering to troll about anyway.

I have put some of my work here is youd bother to check. I posted some of my duds on Newsjack rejections. If I do make a video I'll be sure to let you know

I didnt like your work because your impressions were dull, ancient and I forgot to say this in my original post but your intro was tedious and not funny at all.

There I said it. If I'm banned because you think I'm a troll I'm sure I'll live.

Well you had me with Dali, but I have to say some of the impressions were unrecognisable.

Although others were pretty good, so maybe you should concentrate on the good ones rather than breaking the world record for the most?

You clearly didn't even read my reply properly. I was alluding to your Newsjack contributions in the above post, if 'you'd bother to check'.

Anyway, I'm not here to make enemies. I was just expressing my opinion for a change, it that's allowed.

Cheers.

Oh so now you're not here to make enemies. How very big and noble of you! "If that's allowed?"? I'm not the boss of you.

Bored now. Oh and as I said earlier if my script that I'm sending off to Big 5 gets rejected, I will film it and let you know.

I won't 'cheers' you back as I only drink with friends.

Thanks AngieBaby,

It was really good fun to make, and yep - I probably got a little carried away! Watching it again, there are probably one or two I would drop, but just from my experience of chatting to people on this forum and in person, perceptions vary massively on who I should keep. Concentrating on fewer characters and extending the dialogue is an interesting idea if I do another.

Ta!

Take a pill mate, read the site rules, you didn't offer constructive feedback and surprise surprise I don't care if you get banned either so just try and reign it in bud.

Cheers! Wave

I see you've carried out your threat and banned me. Excuse me whilst I go weep in my glass of gin because I now fear that the sky will now fall down and I am doomed!

If you read back on the majority of my posts I have been complimentary on most of the work posted in critique but no, you'd rather focus on the negatives because in reality you are a curtain twitching xenophobe aren't you?

I was never personally abusive to anyone. In fact the worst thing I said was that someone's material was embarrassing.I have read much more scathing comments on that board since I joined but of course I'm an outsider so I have no right to comment.

I see you didn't bother to make an appearance when one of the posters 'virtually' rimmed a cup of coffee he was making for me with his cock, Cock.

I was not a troll just someone who spoke his mind.

Go f**k yourself Aaron and everyone else who moderates this board. You are nothing but a bunch of losers on a power trip. Oh and your forum doesn't seem very popular judging by the non heavy traffic on there. Quelle surprise! You're an arsehole and I suspect people know it but daren't tell you because you own that dreary place you call a forum.

Right, I'm off to do some proper writing.
