Newsjack - Series 2 Page 38

I went a bit overboard this week; 3 Sketches and 18 Quickies (9 of them John Terry related). If they're not playing the JT card I'm going to look a right doughnut.

Oh dear, I forgot to include my email address in the attached document. Is there any way that I can sort this?

If your name is in the filename of the doc, it should be fairly easy to figure out where it came from should they need to contact you.

Yeah, and it's in the text of the file as well just in case they miss that!

Five vox pops, 2 corrections, 1 Terry sketch, 1 "Look at my Opinions and Agree" and a partridge in a pear tree.

Good luck folks!

I always think they must get so many submissions about the same thing, so this week I concentrated on one-liners from the recipes section on the BBC homepage, I've got a vox-pop about Thai sticky mango rice that I think might get on. Fingers crossed!

As in 'I'll eat that with chopsticks - fingers crossed'

Out of interest, perhaps some old-timer could tell me what's next on 'The Calendar' after NJ ends.

That would be sod all. Well. Maybe that Welsh topical show...

Oh well, better learn some Welsh then (and stick 'Max Boyce' into YouTube).

Just one sketch from me this week. By not submitting any VPs I've improved all your odds by a quantity so small I've accidentally proved the existence of the Higgs boson. This was easier but far less satisfying than getting a 'John Terry dresses up like David Mellor' gag on NJ – apparently.

Good luck. :)

'John Terry dresses up like David Mellor'

Good luck with that. Definitely more topical than my "E(gg)dwina Currie Doesn't Like Eggs" sketch by some years.

Har har! That's fooled 'em! Sent my stuff in this week from a different email account and got the auto response.

Err no...hang on...actually I didn't get it. That's actually an offer for cut-price Viagra!

Hmmm...does the mythical blacklist that Dan (SwerytD) was on for years really exist? And if it does how do I get myself off it? Must I be particularly 'nice' to a member of the production staff?

And yet wait! I know they must get my stuff because I was invited to submit for this run based on my last series submissions so it must just be down to my formatting - or else because I refuse to stop using ScriptSmart :)

Or maybe the unthinkable...to wit - my ideas are just pure shite. That is when viewed within the context of what they equire for this show.

Maybe a parody of Eamonn Andrews, Leslie Crowther and Peter Glaze doing 'Double or Drop' with phials of radioactive material just doesn't cut it in this world of modern satire.

Good luck everyone.

I don't know - they're all still alive on Radio 7 (to paraphrase a regular Newsjack joke).

Unattributed source from the BBC: "There is no blacklist; I wish we were that organised."

:)
