It's always slightly suspicious when someone with only a few posts to their name feels so strongly to negatively criticise someone else's work.

So because I am a few posts in I should have weaker feelings and no right to critisise someones work. Must I earn that right by posting twentyninetyand a hundred posts?

I shouldn't think so but constructive criticism is expected.

By posting in such a negative way gives the impression that you might just be trolling

Who died and made you thread prefect? What does it matter if I have or not. I am the audience therefore my opinon counts. Thats why they have focus groups and private screenings.

I'm just wondering why you are so concerned about other people's opinions so much. But I can only draw my own conclusions, mainly that you seem to want to cause trouble, so for that reason excuse me if I just ignore you. :)

Negative?
I am saying what I think. Its only trouble because I didn't think it was any good.

You are quite excused and you have my persmisson to ignore me :)

Dolly is perfect. :$

One of the rules on this site is that if you do not have at least 1000 posts your opinion isn't valid, as yet. Keep plugging away though

:)

Perfect then I will have fun knowing that my opionion counts for nothing. logically it means it should cuase you know offence either.
:)

bushbaby - the crash zooms, jerky pans and camera wobbles (aka Shaky Cam) is an established film language, a device created to convey a sense of documentary realism.

This was a production with no budget and a restricted time limit and it's not really fair to compare it directly to big budget Hollywood features. It would be like comparing the stage routine of an unknown stand up with Lion King: The Musical.

Considering this is Jane's second film, I think it is really well done. Until you've actually gone out there and tried to make your own, then you won't understand how difficult the process is.

I found the zooming in/out annoying.
I don't know though if that's acceptable these days or a new type of filming style because of video cameras.
In a professional film, the same scene is filmed full length then done again waist up then a third time close up...ie...neck/shoulders.
It's then edited and the best shots from each scene are put together for the film. So there'd be no zooms, just a 'cut' from a full length shot to a close up, for instance.

I think that's a style choice to have the zooming in and out. It's like what they do on modern sitcoms to make them look more reality based.

(edit: what renegade said )

Mmm hm. I'm nt bothered about the camerawork it is the content.

Do you guys wtahc YouTube and see what some people are doing? They too are on low to no budgets at all, but their work is funny, clever or really makes you think. I'm sorry if I'm a lone voice here but it wasn't very good. I am not a troll just someone with an opinion. And by the way I have said that there is some good stuf on this board.

Yes, I'm not criticising Jane or the film, maybe I'm too old for this new type of filming. It does give a documentary type impression, it's just for me personally, I prefer the other method.
I have done some filming some moons ago and acted. The 'three' shot thing is great to do whether professional or not and difficult for the actor as continuity has to be concentrated on.
Well done anyway to Jane. :)

I can really see you settling in here funnyf.

Get your feet under the table son.

BEWARE OF TROLLING YOU MAY BE BANNED. YOU SEEM QUITE AGRESSIVE.

I'll be banned only because you are insisting that I am troll. I seemaggressive. WHat about you?

Fine I'll leave. sEEMS this place is only happy if you praise.

I feel sad now.

I sort of feel like I'm in that film 'The Beach', that shady group on the island.

This funnyfnarr vs Dolly duologue has a certain Déjà vu. Or maybe it's just me
