For me, the main song in this category has to be 'A Day in the Life' by The Beatles. First time I heard it, I thought it's okay, nothing special, but the more I hear it, the better it gets and at the moment I think it is absolutely amazing and the more I hear it, the better it gets.
Songs that just get better the more you hear them
Emmy the Great's songs are mostly growers.
The most recent song I can think of that took me a while to get into was 'Cathy' by Rodrigo Leao & Neil Hannon. First few listens it didn't grab me at all, it seemed a bit slow but then it started to grow on me and now I loves it I do. The little Irish Pixie's voice sounds spiffing and the lyrics are just lovely. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEPa7GOCatA
Most of my favourite songs are growers, come to think of it.
One song that always sends a shiver down my spine.
"Sweet love" by Anita Baker.

Listen to mine though and I hope you'll see what I mean. As a renowned musical snob it's hardly what you'd expect me to get "moved" by.

Ah that, yeah, that's a good song. See the stuff music snobs miss? There'll be a few thousand more of these you've missed out on.
Gerry Rafferty 'Stuck in the Middle With You' really is resonating with me can't stop singing it, sort of sums my life up ...
Don't You Remember by Adele.
'Boys Boys Boys' by Sabrina.

You're familiar with the Anthology 3 version (take 6 with tinkering) where McCartney fluffs a lyric and swears and giggles? And Mal Evans counts the bars of the bridge? Poor old Mal Evans, eh?
Just heard 'Rock an Roll Star' Oasis, my son loved it, I didn't.
Yes, changed now it does f**kin' rock!
