Summer Heights High Page 10

Says the guy who dismissed Fawlty Towers as "a man running around screaming"... ;)

Okay it may be more than that.

But very little more.

I don't like Monty Python either.

so there.

There is a 3 Disc special edition DVD out in AU. I picked it up and if you are a fan of the show the amount of extra footage included is insane. They could have easily cut together 2 or 3 more episodes with the deleted scenes, which are just as funny as what made it into the show.

Thought Summer Heights High was brilliant.

Aaron do you just intentionally pick the worst comedies around and then say you like them to get a rise out of people?

No. But anyone with a positive word to say of Summer Heights High evidently does.

Probably not enough middle class old people falling over in it for you to find it funny.

You could be right.

Fair enough, I am sure there is something you enjoy watching that I also do.

In another life we could have been brothers but it wasn't meant to be.

Watched the second episode tonight; I am loving this show. He's such a brillant performer.

I LOVE Summer Heights High, but I've got to say it rarely makes me laugh out loud - hooked me in with the characters rather than the laughs. Its definitely a grower.

I rarely laughed but that, that made me laugh alot.

Stick your cup of tea up your arse.

Just watching this again on DVD. Great stuff, not least the way he makes you care about Jonah towards the end. Looking forward to Chris Lilley's next project, which I'm hoping we'll get this year?

I got all excited when I saw this pop up... I so want a second series.

I doubt there'll be a second series. A quick internet search reveals that his next project called Angry Boys with HBO. I look forward to it.

Looks like 'Angry Boys can't be too far off now:

You find "Summer Height's High" so bad, Aaron. I've seen some of the things that you defend - the weakest sitcoms that I like are usually the only ones we agree on!

I was just thinking this while reading your posts on this show. :D

I just adore this show. Chris Lily is a genius and "We Can Be Heroes" and "Summer Heights High" go so close to the bone - and then throw in some real absurdity to add insult to injury! No one who watches this can behave, even slightly, like the characters without catching themselves - a grotesque funhouse mirror. I love the mixture of mocumentary and single-camera sitcom. No laugh track, just awkwardness and moral questions hanging in the air. :D
