It doesn't hurt. You're not a wussy girly so you'll be fine.
It's a bit sore for a day after - but only as ina mouth ulcer or burn on your tongue is sore. The sensation of it being pulled is weird, but nothing horrific. I flew off to New York the day after I had two of mine done with no probs.
