Annoying Office Cliches

According to a Daily Mail survey the top 5 most annoying office cliches are
1 At the end of the day
2 What goes around comes around
3 Its not rocket science
4 Thinking outside the box
5 Flogging a dead horse

I couldn't agree more! they are sooo annoying.......I mean really, when push comes to shove and all is said and done,an ill wind blows no good, two wrongs don't make a right, and too many cliches spoil the broth...or something

Any more annoying ones?

Going forward ! . . . . I could punch the user in the throat! Angry

We are where we are. . . . . ditto

I remember at a meeting a couple of years ago someone mentioned "stovepiping".

Was this meeting in a Soho bar full of muscled men in leather jackets?

I knew it'd be a phrase Griff would know. It's all about context and personal experience. ;)

A) What day is it again It's Tuesday isn't it?
B) Yes.... All day.
Laugh out quietly.

Ramping up. Angry

Ramping up. Angry

Equally offensive is "ratcheting up". During one meeting at a former workplace, an American colleague spoke of the need to step up to the plate and take it to the next level. She also employed ridiculous buzzwords such as paradigm and proactive.

I know it isn't your blood Griff but you made the mess and you'll clean that up.

Sootyj it's a DVD player not a breville.

Sootyj it's a DVD player not an automated gerbil guillotine.

You know Sootyj please work from home, for everyone's sake.

Laughing out loud

Followed by "Can someone ring the temp agency for a new secretary, another one's resigned" I'll wager.

Sad thing is they don't even smile when they say it anymore.

asap. >_< Angry

'Good morning'-it rarely is

When our boss is bored with a stalled discussion in a meeting he will say to those labouring a point to 'take it offline' meaning 'you can go away and talk about it and make a decision yourselves as long as I'm not in anyway involved'. :D
