Is he the forum moderator then?

He thinks he is.
Quote: IT David @ January 14 2010, 6:10 PM GMTDawn says my beliefs probably make, in essence, a Pentecostal.

Quote: SlagA @ January 14 2010, 11:31 AM GMTWho do?
You do.
Sorry, felt a bit bad that no one else has responded to that chortle-some post.
Quote: bigfella @ January 14 2010, 6:01 PM GMTWhat denomination are you David?
In my book he's a threepenny bit !
Quote: Kevin Murphy @ January 14 2010, 7:47 PM GMTYou missed out a whole category of horribleness: people being eaten by tigers.
Nope, tigers fit on the sliding scale between one murder and a beating. Depending on whether the tiger was hungry or just in mauling mood.
And the food chain is a myth, it's more a food cycle, like top trumps. There's always something out there that will eat you, no matter how high up or low down you think you are on the 'ladder'.
Quote: zooo @ January 14 2010, 5:12 PM GMTSo what can he do then, Slag. What does he spend his time doing?
What's the point of him?
I don't know. Not thought a huge amount about it.
Eternity isn't (imo) just a lot of time, because time will eventually end, either in a big crunch or when entropy has run its course. If time has a beginning and an end, then eternity isn't contained within time. If eternity exists it's found in dimensions higher or beyond time, not lots of time but the abscence of time.
Bit rusty on all this as I used to think a great deal about it. Needed to, for a book I was writing. So my thoughts are a bit vague.

Yay! I knew someone would get it.
I liked it tooo. But then it made me think of 'Do you do duvets?' which is an entirely different kettle of fish.
But we are assuming being saved from death is an inherently good thing.
If you lived a good life does it really matter how long it was? An interventionist God is not neccasairly a kind one.
I have taken the decision to take a step back from this guys, as with me being someone of a strong faith I think it best to let you work the answers out for yourself, however, I am certainly enjoying this thought provoking discussion. Two thumbs up.
Quote: SlagA @ January 14 2010, 10:33 PM GMTDepending on whether the tiger was hungry or just in mauling mood.
Most victims of tiger attacks thesedays are illegal loggers or plantation/farm workers, who have encroached on the tigers' natural habitat. And generally it's the older, weaker tigers - or those with cubs - that attack humans.

You can take them out now David. They're making it hard for me to concentrate. >_<
Honestly, you bisexuals...!
I would like to viehemently clarify I am hetrosexual.
Quote: zooo @ January 14 2010, 10:57 PM GMTHonestly, you bisexuals...!
Yup. You wouldn't believe what we get up to. Why, only the other day, I was having sex with a human being while ruminating over the fact that God may or may not exist.
