Commissioners

I was just looking at the production details for White Van Man and noticed three commissioners listed, what exactly do they do and why are there three of them?

Good question! Sometimes I wonder if the commissioners themselves even they know what they're job is as it's not that clear cut!

Basically a commissioner's job is to pick funny stuff to order. It's clearly not a science though, given how much crap gets shown every year! Their other jobs could involve working out budgets, fixing up contracts and that kind of thing, but not always.

In the case of White Van Man, Danny Cohen is the boss of BBC Three so I guess he's on the list because he gets to choose what ends up on his channel.

Cheryl Taylor is the BBC's Comedy Commissioner - so she's the one that gets to have the overall say on what the BBC orders and what it doesn't.

Simon Lupton is BBC Three commissioning editor which means, er... I'm not sure.

Danny Cohen? All these brother Jews and this Hebe can't catch a break.

Sucks to be me.

that seems to have cleared that up nicley then, thank you all. Morrace I think you have given me an idea for a new reallity TV show, "syncronised come dancing- on anything you like" I think I will knock one off right away, if you'll pardon the expression.
