Not sure about smug but obnoxious definitely. I used to work in a Hi-fi accessories shop on Tottenham Ct Rd and Robert Powell walked in. He wanted a new mains lead for his radio and so I asked him whether he wanted a 2 pin figure of eight type or a 3 pin Bulgen type (I actually showed him one as an example). His response was "oh ffs what is wrong with you f**kin lot" and he walked out!
