Best Cigarette Brand? Page 2

Not a smoker myself, but I do enjoy the odd Hamlet Cigar on special occasions.

Have you ever tried a cigarette before Jack?

Cheers for the tip. Will it help the other problem too?

I was not aware that onanism resulted in jaundiced fingers. Using those poncy-looking filters may improve your sex life. Quitting smoking is also an option.

I stopped smoking about 5 years ago but still occasionally hanker after a Soft Pack Camel and or an un-tipped Gauloises... Bliss... the snug in a quiet pub, a good book, a pint of Guinness and a cigarette...

Now I have to look up onanism.

That's the best word ever. Nice one Kenneth. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, or everyone else is.

Cigars - wankers

Are you working class and poor?

Yes I have and I don't like them. I inhail and it makes me cough, so I like a cigar very occasionally where it's acceptable not to inhail. I'm not so keen on smoking to be honest.

I think the brand you choose says a lot about where you live and your social grouping.

Marlboro Lights - London, trendy, media types

Embassy - Lorry drivers and single mums from Rotherham

Mayfair - Unemployed

Silk Cut / Richmond / Super Kings - elderly women who play bingo

Rollies - students and old men

Benson and Hedges - chavs, football thugs, Essex boys

Consolate - 13 year old girls

Cigars - wankers

Gauloises - pretencious, beret wearing, miserable wankers

Camel - young dudes with crappy hair cuts and t-shirts with slogans on them

Rothmans - ex-Royal Marine mercenaries

Though there will always be exceptions to the rule, these are the generalisations I have observed as a smoker.

Marlboro reds?

So why have a cigar? Effect?

My father was a tobacconist for nigh on fifty years. I grew up in a smoking environment.

I smoked nearly everything legal. Passing Clouds, Camel, Sobranie Black Russian, Sobranie Cocktail (the ones with the different coloured papers), the ones with a match head on them that you 'struck' on the side of the packet,Laika named after the Russian dog in Space, Park Drive, Woodbines, B&H, Craven A,Players No 10, Capstan Full Strength etc.

I was up to 60 a day (and yes, it's quite easy when it's the last thing you do at night and the first in the morning) then I developed a cough that, every morning, felt like someone was tightening a Jubilee Clip around my head. I thought that enough was enough.

I had acupuncture which was fashionable at the time but I've never had a drag on anything since that day.

I tell myself that if I give in once, I will be back on 60 a day (£15ish? x 365 = £5470+) :O

Despite what smokers say, and however much they protest it and if they were honest with themselves, I believe that if I said to any of them that with a click of my fingers they would stop, they would take it.

I would with booze!

Although, drinking is more of a social thing. When did anyone ever say 'I'll see you later for a cigarette.'?

And, in passing, the smoking ban is wonderful! I no longer stink when I come out of the pub.

Smokers, you really do smell !

Sick

Fair enough.

What does snuff say about one?

Especially Wilson's of Sharrow SP1.

Inhale*

Marlboro reds?

Yeah, you really should have included your own brand RC. How about:

Marlboro Reds - cowboys.

'Cowboys, don't trust Cowboys, with a screw too short and a nail too long. Don't trust Cowboys!'

:P

*cough*

I smoke Marlboro lights and reds, it's ok because it's an occasional ciggy :D

Oh and Marlboro super lights or whatever they're called. Best avoided it's like smoking air.
