Newsjack - Series 2 Page 14

Just sent mine off. As ever, I wish I'd started them earlier in the week and done more polishing. Ah well, maybe Week 3 I'll do that.

I'm up for the cup this week. Sharpened my Midge Ure side burns and sent in some ultra vox pops and lady gagas.

Tam

Sent in three sketches, don't think they are as good as last weeks and they didn't get on so probably have no hope but alas you got to be in in to win it :P

Great I missed the first sex robot with 5 personality functions news story, I can see a few sketch ideas for that...

Hello everyone - newbie poster here. Having discovered this forum via Newsjack, I think I'll be here more often!

Having got into comedy for the writing side of it, I'm finding this whole deadline thing a great motivator. I should have thought of it before.

My sketches this week ran into my fuggy cold-addled brain, but like CKY88 says, got to be in it to win it. The thing about cold-induced delirium is that it helps to think up off-kilter stuff, but not necessarily with getting it down in coherent form.

Looking forward to tackling the voxpops and corrections now. Somebody pass the Lemsip.

Welcome Wishus!

Sent one quick sketch in before twelve but I've just read it back and it is - how you say - pants.

Ah well, I'm always happier once I've realised - it's like remembering what it is you've forgotten on the way to the airport - I can relax now...

It's a strange phenomenon. I've often proof-read a piece a number of times, but on the first re-read after pressing 'send' I spot a spelling mistake or an obvious improvement. Most perplexing.

At least they got the automated response right this week.

Yes. The auto response I got was "Go away!"

I assume everyone else got that too. :P

I just wrote a really good sketch that I think they would like, what are the chances I could send it in with my VOXPOPS tomorrow and they would read it? Slim to none?

Its probably not as good I think, but it's better than the tat I sent in earlier :(

Auto-response. I got no auto-response. Why did I not get an auto-response? I want an auto-response. Why has auto-response forsaken me. Is my stuff getting through, are they missing out on comedy gold? Am I missing out on my big break.

Or could it be something to do with a hotmail account (yes I use hotmail, it's just an email account).

I think on their blurb they said they won't read any sketches after the sketch deadline. So slim to none, I'd say.

Does your sketch have enough legs to be able to be submitted next week?

Why not reduce it to a voxpop?

yeah, what sooty said.

I didn't get an auto-response either, but I got one yesterday and the day before. I just think the system goes nuts on Monday.
