Everyone went on TOTP when it was on every week. Whether they were too cool to or not! Every band wants to reach more fans.

Yes, But TOTP has changed.
They're not too cool, They're just not the sort of band you see on TOTP...
It's gone all chavvy now :(

Or maybe you mean they don't get in the top 40 so wouldn't appear for that reason?

And they are in the top 40

But TOTP is only on for Christmas specials now isn't it? Not a proper show as it was at all. All sorts of random, obscure bands ended up on it when they needed 10 bands per week.

(And I wasn't taking the piss when I asked about the top 40 by the way! I just thought that might be what you meant.)

The trouble is zooo that you're just too old now.

I knows it!

I always loved how Moon's drums kept playing after he and Townshend had pretty much demolished the set during an obviously lip-synced TOTP performance.

When I first saw Blade Runner I always used to wonder how the 'attack ships' were supposed to be on fire when there's no oxygen in space. I used to wonder how it was possible. It troubled me for ages until I realised that the writer just knew f**k all.

I don't think I've ever seen Blade Runner, but that bothered me in the recent Doctor Who episode set on Mars.

Ahhh
One, it does.
And two, you wouldn't catch them DEAD on TOTP!

Not properly it doesn't!
And I think you'd catch them doing whatever their record company ordered them to do. Like appearing on TOTP.

Wouldn't the escaping air from the punctured spacecraft fuel the flames for a little while at least?

Science fiction would be a much more muted and less exciting genre if we had to start removing explosions because technically they wouldn't happen in space.

Possibly. But I believe fire eats through oxygen pretty quickly, so it would not have been long at all. On DW there were massive explosions sending debris flying all over the place. (And coming into land on a planet with gravity, now I think about it.)
