Joke Help

I just cannot make my mind up about this one. Is it any good or bad taste? Or just plain crap?

Thoughts appreciated.

"Am I the only one that thinks Mr Tickle has muscular dystrophy?"

Not bad if you worked it into part of a larger routine, infact probably quite good.

But a bit bald on it's own.

I don't think muscular dystrophy is well known enough for the joke to work very well. When you think of Mr. Tickle you think of really long arms, not weak muscles.

It might work in stand-up where the audience can see you flopping your arms about as you make the gag but I think that - to reach all the way downstairs and fetch himself a biscuit without getting out of bed - Mr. Tickle must actually have quite strong arms with very good muscle control.

A routine about the various attributes of the Mr. Men might be a good one overall though. I've always thought they'd make a cracking good Tekken-style fighting game.

Write that sketch before someone else nicks it.

Yeah it is part of a bigger routine so that's good to hear, however:

That was my other concern.

I don't know. I'll see if I can reword it I guess.

Cheers

Best wait until muscular dystrophy works its way into the mainstream.

It doesn't work.

Afinkawan's joke about a Mr. Men Tekken game is much better.

It doesn't work in this form or there's no joke in there and it will never work?

Okay. Your tense is wrong. That's the first thing. 'Am I the only one that THOUGHT - not thinks.

It's trying to hard. The connection between the wobbly arms and MD is too slight.

I'd say that there's material in the Mr. Men/ Little Miss oeuvre though.

Little Miss Oeuvre was never published though was it?

Ah right ok. Well this is a snippet from a bigger Mr Men section so hopefully it will work better in the context of that, but I have a few different gags for Mr Tickle so I can bin this MD one without too much worry.

Cheers

Please don't egg him on.
