Why are they taking pictures of Britain! They should be keeping an eye on the middle east! God the CIA has the attention of a 6 year old!

Photos from those satellites would show you clearing your driveway and you'd be able to read the "Made in China" imprint on the snow shovel. ;)

I should imagine the CIA keeps an eye on us since we train the most anti-American terrorists. Albeit badly.

I could be wrong but I keep hearing there aren't any satellites that good. the best they can do is about 200 metres?

Then again I also assume America and many of their military satellites tend to keep what they can do to themselves.

Oh no, they're much better than that. Even the commercial companies like GeoEye have satellites that have resolutions of less than a meter. GeoEye's next spacecraft will have 25-centimeter resolution.

Yes, the exact capabilities of reconnaissance satellites (of all nations) are closely guarded secrets.

Here's a sample 0.5-meter image from GeoEye's website. You can't make out their features, but you can see individuals on the ground.

This half-meter resolution satellite image shows crowds of people entering the main entrance to Tokyo Disneyland, Japan. The image was taken on January 1, 2010 from 423 miles in space by the GeoEye-1 satellite
