Don't tell me you automatically enjoy all the stuff put out for Comic Relief and Children in Need just because it's for charidee?

I quite liked the Alan Partridge stuff set in a gym with Peter Kay. But most charity specials are dire dire dire.

It was? I thought it was fun.

I can't fully remember that one I remember it set up some really interesting possibilities. How did he get out of it in the end?

I'm glad Gatiss is back - The Unquiet Dead is my favourite story from Series 1.

re Time Crash:

Tennant: You were so cool.
Davison: You're a twat.
Tennant: You were my hero.
TARDIS crashes into Titanic, ushering in another excruciatingly emotional episode.

Oh Time Crash was the Titanic one, I thought it was the Turn Left one, I can't remember how he got out of that one.

I don't think how he extricates himself from his various predicaments has ever been that innovative.

Ha! I don't mean it like that.
I mean treating a 10 minute special he made for fun as a real episode that deserves a proper critique.

Usual way.

Was that the Shakespeare and JK Rowling Episode?

She's looking at YOU Renegade Carpark!! :D

In my defence, I've kept off this Doctor Who thread for more then 300 pages, I only started chiming in after 'Waters of Mars'.

Personally, I'm glad they're letting comedy writers bang out scripts for DW, as I've got an idea for one and in my fantasy world, I'm going to become a famous comedy writer, so they'll have to take mine.

Loved the idea for a sci-fi musical - The Torchwood Trilogy? Miss Cylon? Stargate Express? Um...New Chicago? (only for Buck Rogers fans - that was v. poor)

'Waters of Mars'.

Good one, that. :)

The last five minutes were.

The last five or even ten minutes were brilliant, but that endind was a wasted opportunity. It could have continued into 'The Trial Of A Time Lord 2009'. :D

Time Lord Victorious and consequences of breaking the laws of time, for example, weren't a part of the story in The End Of Time. Which is a shame.

All of his episdoes have been quite filler so far, haven't they? Not awful, but just 'they'll do', 'nothing too exciting' sort of episodes. I was hoping Robert Shearman, who wrote 'Dalek', was also going to be back.

Quote: john lucas 101 @ January 7 2010, 10:45 AM GMT

Yeah, bit odd that he's just written the one episode. I can't imagine that he wouldn't be asked back.

I would think that 'Robert Shearman' was probably a pseudonym, like Robin Bland or Louis Grieffer.
