Doctor Who... Page 378

Despite Moffat and Matt Smith talking over, I reckon Doctor Who will remain pretty much the same. From the beebs point of view, it's a winning formula, so they're unlikely to change it. Anybody expecting big changes will more than likely be disappointed.

Yeah, I don't know who wrote the episode he was in.

Yeah, Moffatt himself has said that he's not suddenly going to change everything, it's still going to be a mix of styles and stories, it's not suddenly going to get all dark and grown up. It'll definitely be different to some degree though, it's got a new person as it's creative head, it can't not be a bit different.

Oh he didn't write that awful one where he was the baddie? I retract my statement a bit then.

Should think so too!

;)

I think it'll be like Barack Obama taking over from Bush. There's a lot of RTD haters out there who think this will be the dawn of a brave new age, who will be sorely disappointed.

Which means they'll all be on this thread whinging and moaning again.
Joy.

Take the whinging and moaning out of the BCG and there's bugger all left!

If he just makes sure the plots make sense, that would be a good start.

I have mixed feelings over all this praise for Moffat. He's yet to top Doctor Who and the Curse of Fatal Death, which was brilliant; whereas Time Crash is the most cringe-worthy horrible bit of New Who to date. No major complaints about Blink and The Doctor Dances. But oh for a Doctor who doesn't just swing between manic and mawkish.

Aw, I was still hoping Neil Gaiman was going to write an episode.

And Alan Moore who did some cool Dr.Who comic strips early in his career.

On the subject of comic writers - I'd also be interested to see what Warren Ellis could do with an episode of Doctor Who.

I don't remember Sarah Jane having an urst type crush on Pertwee either :)

The Comic Relief 10 minute special, made for charity?

You lot are so uptight!

Good point about Time Crash. That was truly awful. Wish you hadn't reminded me!

It was? I thought it was fun.
